Start Earlier, Work Harder, and Divorce Poverty

I am a strong believer in hard work. Whenever somebody tells me what God will do and fail to tell me what I must do, I feel uncomfortable. I also believe in favor, but the people that were highly favored in the Bible were not loafers. Until we start telling young people the truth about life, gambling will keep thriving.

If you read some of my books like, The Pursuit of Excellence and Twelve Pillars of Financial, you would have seen why I am a strong believer in hard work. People talk about working smart, but they forget that no matter what you call it, work is work. Smart work is instead of unloading 200 bags of cement from a truck with your hands, you should get a forklift. But It’s still work. Instead of opening a shop physical you can open it digitally. It is still work.

The harder you work, the closer you get to your destination in life. Asian countries are developing with speed because they made work a lifestyle. That’s why they are colonizing us economically. That’s why upon all your years of claiming breakthrough, all the goods in your shop right now are manufactured by a Chinese who do not even believe in God. The difference is that while they are working, we are waiting for breakthrough.

Develop a workaholic mentality. There is nothing that will bring you to the attention of the important people in your work life faster that for you to get a reputation as a hard worker.

Everybody knows who the hard workers are in every business. The hardest workers are always the most respected in any company of value. They are always paid more and promoted faster for a very simple reason: they are more productive.

They get work done in a shorter period of time. They are more valuable to any company or organization. They set a better example, and are the kind of people bosses are proud of and want to keep more than anyone else.

Two Extra Hours

The rule is that too extra hours of work each day are all you really need to invest to become one of the most successful people in the world. You can get these extra two hours by coming in an hour earlier and staying an hour later. In most cases, this will expand your day slightly but it will expand your career tremendously.

The top people in every field work more hours than average people. The top ten percent of money-earners in every field work sixty to seventy hours every week. That’s how to stand out in life. You must understand that there is no shortcut to the top. Until you pour yourself into your profession you cannot stand out in your generation.

But remember that the hardest workers work all the time they work. They do not waste time in unimportant matters. When they arrive at work early, they immediately start in on important tasks. They work steadily throughout the day. They are friendly, but they do not make small talk or gist with their coworkers.

The average person today works at less than fifty percent of capacity. The other fifty percent is spent in idle socializing, leaving early, and chatting with people on the phone or social media, personal business, and taking extended breaks.

Only five percent of people in the world of work today actually work the whole time. Everyone else is functioning somewhere below the potential, in many cases far, far below. If you are in this category, it will be difficult for you to stand out in your generation or to create lasting wealth.

Avoid Time-Wasting Activities.

When people tries to distract you from what you are doing, smile cheerfully and say, “Well, I’ve got to get back to work! We will talk about that later.” Keep repeating these words, over and over. “Back to work! Back to work! Back to work!”

If people want to talk, tell them that you have got to get back to work! That you would be pleased to chat with them at the end of the day. In most cases, they will never come back.

The fact is that life is a contest. You are in competition with everyone else who wants to be paid more and promoted faster. There is a race on and you are on it. Your job is to move yourself into the pole position and get ahead faster than anyone else. If you sit down to chat with those who are not serious with their life, you will definitely be like them.

Dear friend, stop lazying around. Stop hoping to have a great future without your input. Stop waiting for someone that will give you free money and take away your poverty. You must understand that nobody becomes wealthy through gifts. Otherwise, beggars will no longer be on the street begging.

God did not promise us free money. Isaac attracted unprecedented success because he chose to till the hard surface of the soil during famine. Even though God promised to bless him, he did not sit at home to wait for the blessing. He stepped into his farm and engaged in hard work. God looked down from the balcony of heaven and saw him.

Then this happened; “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines envied him.” Genesis 26:12-14.

Hard work pays. Favor locates you faster when you are working. Don’t sit idle somewhere waiting for breakthrough. The harder you work, the higher you fly. Idleness is the pathway to the city of regret. If you refuse to work nothing will work around you. The choice is yours!
