Spiritual Stability

There are people whose spiritual lives are hot today and cold tomorrow. Today they are bubbling in the spirit, tomorrow they are struggling to find the right words during prayer.

That is not the plan of God for you. God wants you to remain spiritually rugged. That is why He said through brother Paul; “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” Ephesians 6:10.

Spiritual instability is one of the major reasons why many believers move from one seer to prayer contractor. Spiritual instability is the inability to maintain the tempo of a particular spiritual dimension for a long period of time.

While engaging in an in-depth study of the Word the other day, I came across Isaiah 33:6 and something shifted in my spirit. Brother Isaiah wrote:

“Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, And the strength of salvation; The fear of the Lord is His treasure.”

That phrase “Stability of your times,” literally jumped out of that verse when I read it. It was like God saying, “Ifeanyi A. C. Eze, this is the key to spiritual stability!”

So I decided to decode it. I found many things from that verse and chapter in general, but ‘stability of your times’ literally means; firmness, steadiness, constancy and being settled on a firm foundation.

It is having an iron cast conviction of the Almightiness of God that provokes you to develop an unbendable daily spiritual routine that keeps you spiritually alert.

There are teachings I don’t listen to any longer because they encourage spiritual laziness. They kill the unquenchable hunger for God that turns a believer into a flame of fire. So mind what you listen to.

Develop Spiritual Schedule

Every outstanding minister I know always talk about their daily spiritual schedule that cannot be tampered with.

Some wake up by 4:AM daily to pray and study the Word for at least two hours. Some read 12 chapters of the Bible every morning before talking to anybody.

I know one that pays the tithe of 24 hours in prayer every morning. That is, he prays for 2 hours 40 minutes every morning before be steps out of his room.

To be spiritually stable you must endeavour to have a plan. What you do once in a while will not have an effect on your life. Consistency is the key to victory.

Spiritual stability demands consistency. It demands a daily spiritual plan that you must follow religiously. You don’t pray for one hour today and the next time you do that will be in six months time.

Power Hour

Develop spiritual habit. You can start gradually and progress with time. You can engage in what I call Power Hour. Study the Bible for 30 minutes, meditate for 15 minutes and pray for 15 minutes. If you can do this for the next 30 days, it will become a habit that will be difficult to stop.

The reason it seems as if God answers some people faster than others is consistent fellowship with Him. All of us have the same access to God, but only few people spend quality time in His presence. That’s why when they speak things happen.

I want to encourage you to order for some of my books like Higher Life in Christ and Wonders of Faith to learn how develop spiritual stability.
