You Can Create Your Own Future Now!

While speaking somewhere in Kaduna few days ago, I said that, the euphoria of crossing over to the new year usually make people to forget that the year does not come with money in it’s mouth. Everywhere you turn right now all you will be hearing is crossover night. Unfortunately, nobody is talking about how to plan for the new year.

Maybe it’s our culture. But sometimes we pay more attention to events and fail to prepare for what happens after. We celebrate the first day of the month and don’t care about planning for the month. We celebrate the new year and enter the year with zero plans. That’s why many are stranded.

If you have been reading Ifeanyi A. C. Eze’s (www.ifeanyieze.com) articles, I’m sure you will remember that I always emphasize that there is no difference between February and September. The only thing that will make a difference is your approach.

There is no different between today and 1st January, 2019. It is only a  change of label. It is good to thank God for giving us another year, but don’t forget that God will not plan for the year on your behalf.

I’m sure many of us declared wonderful things over our lives on the first day of 2018, where is the result? It’s good to say something like, “2019 is my year of breakthrough,” but you must remember that breakthrough is the result of consistent effort that suddenly succeeded.

All I’m trying to tell you is that failing to plan is deliberate effort to usher in failure in abundance. Many people have already constructed beautiful new year wishes that they are going to post on different social media platforms from 31st night, but they have not constructed their plans for the year.

Most Africans are poor because they major in the minor. We pay more attention to the unimportant things. We prepare more for wedding ceremony than the marriage proper. We prepare more for funeral ceremonies than life itself. We prepare more for child naming ceremony than planning for the future of the child. We spend quality time in taking care of the flesh but abandon the soul.

Thank God for the new year, but strategize on how to maximize the year. If by now you are yet to plan for next year, something is wrong somewhere. 2019 is a gift from God, what you do with it is entirely your business.

It is the duty of God to give you great  talent, it is your duty to turn it into business. It is the duty of God to wake you up everyday, it is your duty to know what to do with the day. It is the duty of God to give you 2019, it is your duty to know what to do with it. The easiest way to remain a failure in this life is wishing that one day, you will suddenly wake up and become a billionaire without your input.

Jesus said; “Which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it— lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace.” Luke 14:28-32.

If you are intending to achieve great things next year and fail to sit down to strategize on how to make it happen, you are simply joking. God wants you to have a bright future, but you must be ready to work with Him to make it happen.

I usually say in all our conference that, YOUR FUTURE IS IN YOUR HANDS! Whatever you decide to do with your life today will become the harvest of tomorrow. When solid plan shakes hand with opportunity, great things happen!
